    As a Transport Administrator you will assist the Transport Manager and Transport Team Manager - Days in ensuring that the department runs smoothly with all administration effectively completed.

    At Bidfood Bedford, we recognise that the quality of our Transport team is instrumental to our success. This is an office-based role in which the Transport Administrator needs to ensure that all administrative duties are completed and a professional customer service is provided.

    You will be part of the team that form the primary point of contact for all local transport issues arising, ensuring that all administrative duties are actioned and managed. You will be responsible for liaising with other departments within the depot to ensure effective communication and distribution of information to support the achievement of depot targets. You will be a confident communicator, able to effectively handle calls and emails to provide administration support or to escalate issues to the Transport management team.

    You will monitor and action credits live using our systems including Q-Drop and Voiceman and conduct credit investigations using CCTV and physical checks of stock in the frozen, ambient and chilled areas and discuss findings with drivers and management, you will need to complete reports to highlight trends with drivers/customers using reports.

    To be successful in this role you will need to have similar experience of working in an administrative role within a busy transport department, particularly within the fast-moving food distribution industry. You will be someone with excellent communication and organisation skills as well as being computer literate and confident with entering data onto spreadsheets with a good understanding of Microsoft Office programs. You will need to be able to confidently speak with customers and staff, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure and most of all a great team player.
