Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Experience Designer who can help create and ship high-quality experiences for Autodesk Building Design Products. If you are passionate about experience design, data-driven solutions, problem-solving, user research, complex workflows, customer engagement, or simply BIM, you can impact what we are committed to in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry. The Experience Designer will work on global initiatives and partner with stakeholders from the product, engineering, and other functional teams across different global geolocations. This role requires an empathetic mindset, strategic thinking, critical research, and analysis, proven data-driven design experience, and a thoughtful approach to working independently, collaboratively, and globally within a large organization. This position is based in Shanghai, China.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and build great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation
• Conduct user research to gather market and customer requirements. Leverage data analytics results and tools to analyze customer usage and support design decisions
• Distill complex ideas, large amounts of data, and viewpoints to their essence while keeping an eye on the bigger picture and considering every touch point along the user journey
• Partner with engineering teams and product managers to provide thoughtful visual and interaction design solutions that deliver usable and desired value to customers while understanding technical constraints and effectively balancing quality and speed of delivery

• Coordinate and facilitate usability tests and other target user research with scrum team members and/or Product Managers
• Participate in customer engagements to validate assumptions and concepts, gather input on proposed workflows and refine the product design
• Deliver design communication artifacts (documents, presentations, low, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, etc.) for a wide range of audiences
• Partner with other designers to make sure cohesive experiences across different platforms and products

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrable understanding of modern software development processes as they relate to design
• An understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Ability to develop interactive prototypes and documentation to aid evaluation and development of designs
• Good communicator and storyteller
• Fluent in both Chinese and English
• Impeccable design sensitivity and aesthetic
• Ability to solve complex problems and drive projects from concept through implementation
• Able to influence decision-making at all levels
• Prior experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch or similar
