Reporting to management, the Fusion Technician is responsible for the fabrication and field installation of customer HDPE purchases in addition to warehouse duties. The Fusion Technician must be service-oriented, have a high level of attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
To experience success in the position, the Fusion Technician will:
- Provide a professional atmosphere for our customers
- Uphold our core values and ethics with every interaction
- Work safely and effectively as a teammate and assist with additional tasks as needed to support the overall business
- Know how to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
- Be courteous, friendly and build relationships with customers and vendors
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom HDPE orders to required specifications
- Installation of pipe, fittings, and fabrications on-site
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety
- Receive, count, and verify incoming shipments
- Pick materials for orders, assemble, and package the materials for shipment
- Load/unload trucks and operate fusion equipment and forklift safely
- Maintain/repair HDPE pipe fusion equipment
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
- Must be able to travel for extended periods of time
- Must be local to Edmonton area
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
- Ability to develop comprehensive product and product application knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Mechanical inclination
Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail- Strong written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
- Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience with or knowledge or operation of McElroy fusion machines.
