Konecranes Port Solutions provides products and services for material handling in Ports. Business Unit Port Services are the one-stop, global port services partner powered by deep equipment expertise. Our range of port services starts with equipment maintenance and increases alongside any terminal's evolution, where we are continuously expanding the boundaries of our customer's operational efficiency. As our customers are global, so are we: our talented employees from more than 30 nationalities work across more than 20 countries across the globe.


We are now looking for a person to lead, build up, and implement our Remote Services organization as the Remote Services Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of Remote Services, ranging from Remote Support to Service Level Agreements and to Condition Monitoring contracts. This role belongs to our Global Business Delivery business line within BU Port Services, which in addition to remote services is responsible for carrying out projects where we do not have our frontline as well as supporting our frontlines with large and complex retrofit and modernization projects. This is a global role, and the person selected for the role can work in any Port Services location globally.


As our new Remote Services Manager, you will:

As the manager of our remote services team, you are an experienced leader, known for your customer-centric, inspiring and collaborative approach. You have a good understanding and vision of the potential and future of remote services, and you are able to translate that vision to concrete actions and implement the needed structures. You are an inspiring manager who understands the importance of having an engaged team to be able to deliver the best-in-class service to our customers to support their operational efficiency.


Your main responsibilities include:

  • Ramp-up of new Remote Services by developing and implementing the required capabilities (execution model, processes, tools, resourcing etc.)
  • Support the development of new service offerings, such as Service Level Agreements expansion to other (automated) product lines or condition monitoring services
  • Commercial management and execution of the existing and new remote services contracts (in cooperation with legal/contract management department)
  • Act as account manager for selected customers
  • Ensure the remote services team is capable and able to deliver the best-in-class support to our customers world-wide at their needs
  • Establish, follow-up and improve relevant KPIs

What we expect from you?

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Good understanding on remote services and how to set up those to support our customers globally.
  • Working experience (3-5 years) in manufacturing industry in a global business environment. Experience in port services business and the ports industry is a benefit.
  • Previous experience of leading a team of experts.
  • Intercultural competence and experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Great communication, collaboration, negotiation and listening skills.
  • Proactive and customer centric mindset complimented by can-do attitude.
  • Empathetic leadership skills with determination to implement the vision and connect with people.
  • Good coaching skills, and effective in delegation and managing expectations.
  • Fluent English and preferably previous international working experience. Other language skills are a benefit.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally. It is a hybrid role and involves approx. 20% of time business traveling.
