Overview
This exciting opportunity is with Mastercard's Products and Innovation (P&I), Merchant Solutions product management team and focuses on making Mastercard the best way to pay, by raising the bar of consumer digital experience during eCommerce checkouts. This is a regional product management position fully focused on driving digital product adoption with a focus on the economics.
The ideal candidate has an analytical mind, is passionate about numbers and can transform them into stories. The responsibility includes supporting the development of pricing models and financial frameworks with this expertise in support of digital product managers who are responsible for the definition of their product pricing approach.
Role
This is a product management role that focuses on economics, responsible for the digital pricing framework in Europe and the development and support of individual pricing initiatives.
Key role activities:
- Maintain the existing Digital Pricing Framework in Europe, acting as a subject matter expert and being able to route internal teams to the individual pricing owners.
- Capture and understand internal and external feedback and help translate that feedback into actions that advance our pricing framework.
- Partner with the Customer Economics teams, market and digital product managers to define and align on new pricing constructs for digital services. Specifically, lead the analysis of value, pricing, data, and system interface requirements to arrive at viable pricing strategies.
- Support product managers with your expertise and act as a gatekeeper as well as enabler.
- Provide billing requirements to the Mastercard Billing Systems team to implement, ensuring proper testing is complete prior to launching the pricing. Monitor the implementation of new billing constructs to ensure customers are billed as expected.
- Developing supportive content for new pricing announcements.
- Responsible for financial related tasks that include the preparation of monthly forecasting, budgeting and status updates.
All About You:
- Product pricing and financial model development expertise and experience
- Good knowledge digital products and their value to customers, payment market landscape with knowledge on Acquiring and Issuing business.
- Experience developing business case and forecast models including access to relevant source databases (Oracle, Hadoop, SQL)
- Solid technical background to allow easy learning, being able to translate business requirements in billing requirements using Mastercard specifications.
- Proven Leadership in driving product development efforts in a matrix environment. Easy to liaise with Senior Management in Mastercard to ensure alignment.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel, Tableau and PowerBI.
- Strong negotiation & influencing skills
- Agile with quantitative/analytical skills and ability to effectively manage customer data (including market data as well as financials).
- Very good presentation skills both written and verbal with ability to create great customer facing documentation
- Detail oriented and able to influence cross-functional projects moving against deadlines
- English fluent and preferred at least another major European language.
- Master's degree preferred
