As a Sourcing Category Analyst, you will play a crucial role in PPG's Global Procurement department by supporting category management capabilities. Reporting directly to the Global Procurement Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for conducting category management analyses, market research, and forecasting. Additionally, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including category managers, procurement finance leaders, data scientists, and executive management, to develop cost models, perform analyses, and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Global and Regional Category Managers in the development of sourcing strategies.
- Build cost models and conduct analysis to identify structural savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop ad-hoc reports and identify potential opportunities for future decisions.
- Apply knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and guidelines.
- Develop solutions for complex and time-sensitive requests.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Engineering, or a Business-related field.
- At least 3+ years of previous experience in analytics, technical roles, and/or procurement.
- Proficiency in English with strong presentation skills.
- Comfortable working on global initiatives in a matrix organization across different time zones and cultures.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, including building automated reports and other analytical tasks.
