Wärtsilä Corporate Functions include our global Finance, Human Resources, Comms & Branding and Legal organizations. Wärtsilä Information Management (IM) supports businesses and our corporate functions in digitizing core operations and enabling new digital business opportunities via technology and information.
As Wärtsilä’s Head of Software Asset Management you will be Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the necessary processes to manage software assets in whole Wärtsilä. Focusing license and subscription management from initial order process and negotiating process to continuous optimized utilization. Purpose is to maintain good compliance and understand and control software licensing costs by leveraging Software Asset management’s best practices and Wärtsilä’s target architecture. You need to have solid experience and proven track record in Software Asset management in global companies. You are energetic, good with people and driven to add value.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Your target is to ensure Wärtsilä’s overall compliance with licensing terms and conditions based on visibility into the entity of the Wärtsilä’s software portfolio. Your are accountable for a successful execution of audits in this area. Additionally, you will drive the development and implementation of the Wärtsilä’s software asset management operating model and its continuous development. You liaise with Wärtsilä IM’s Management Team, Indirect Purchasing, and service managers of all the areas of the IM organization. You will report to Director, CIO Office.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Ownership of the Wärtsilä’s SAM operating model
- Define, Develop, implement, lead and manage Software Asset Management processes within Wärtsilä
- Communicating and aligning work with stakeholders in IT and in business
- Administrating vendor provided license / subscription portals
- Driving internal and external software license audits
- Governance of outsourced SAM services (Service Manager for those services)
- Ownership of Wärtsilä’s license management tools
- Management and ownership of Snow License Manager platform
- Internally consulting and guiding license management related topics
- Innovating with new SAM processes, strategies and continual improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid experience in software asset management, IT operations, and understanding of software procurement and license agreements
- Understanding of technological, commercial and legal aspects in the context of SAM
- Good knowledge in at least 2 of the following technologies: Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, IBM
- Software auditing experience
- A good understanding of ISO 19770-1 and 19770-2
- Excellent co-operation, networking and negotiation skills
- Great prioritization, problem solving and innovation skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
Possible location for this position is Helsinki or Vaasa, Finland.
