Recycling Attendant
The Opportunity
The Recycling Attendant provides high level customer service and assistance to the Maitland community and visitors regarding the correct sorting, recycling, and waste disposal of items at the waste facility. This role has a strong focus on increasing resource recovery within the facility and reducing waste to landfill.
You will provide an exceptional customer experience by supervising customer activities in the recycling area, including the Community Recycling Centre and provide advice on the correct disposal of waste items and increase resource recovery. Along with monitoring levels of recyclables you will also conduct accurate and timely reporting to the Site Supervisor to meet compliance requirements. As our Recycling Attendant, you will provide weighbridge and gatehouse services and maintain accurate transaction records.
You
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience and knowledge with recycling and resource recovery operations. Your commitment to provide a high level of service to customers, your ability to work as part of a team coupled with your demonstrated understanding of WH&S in the context of the waste management industry will help you succeed in this role.
A current C class driver’s licence is essential.
The following licences/tickets are not essential but would be highly regarded:
- Certificate III in Waste Management
- Forklift Ticket
- Traffic Controller
- WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role with a salary range of $54,052 up to $59,998 per year based on demonstrated competencies + allowances + 10.5% superannuation. Working 38 hours per week spread across a 7-day roster of hours between 7:00am to 5:00pm.
